Like all the others, I don’t have one favorite. Red, blue, green and yellow to put it simply.

INTERVIEW:
1. If you could travel in a Time Machine would you go back to the past or into the future?
I’d hunt down the Tenth Doctor and make him realize I’m a perfect Companion.

2. Night owl, or early bird?
Night owl. Definitely. Getting up at 6:30 in the morning for the last 30 years hasn’t change my metabolism one bit.

3. One food you would never eat?
I’d say “broccoli”, but that isn’t a food. So I’ll go with deep-fried crickets.

4. Any other books in the works? Goals for future projects?
Right now I’m working on the second novella in the Tales of the Grove series. I have two more Fae series sketched out in my head, and once I’ve finished those I’m seriously thinking about Fae steampunk.

5. If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?
It would either be a little cottage in the Glens of Antrim in the North of Ireland (one that had Internet access, of course!) or a studio apartment on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, near enough to Lincoln Center to walk. (Not that I’m picky!)

6. If a movie was made about your life, who would you want to play the lead role and why?
Emma Thompson. I adore her, I would love for people to think I was that beautiful, and she really needs to be a ginger.

7. How did you come up with the title of your book?
The SoulShares books each have a theme relating to one of the four elements. Deep Plunge started out in my head as Still Waters, until my editor convinced me that would do really well at putting people to sleep.

8. What's your favorite season/weather?
It used to be fall, until I finally noticed that Minnesota falls kept on being followed by Minnesota winters. So now it’s spring.

9. How did you celebrate the sale of your first book?
I got my first contract on my fiftieth birthday. Unfortunately, it was also the day of the visitation before my father’s funeral. So the celebrating had to wait a little. But it definitely involved champagne. I think I remember most of it.

10. What are your current literary works? Any sneak peeks?
My most recent release is Deep Plunge, the third in the SoulShares series. And here’s a taste:

Lochlann kissed a hot trail back to Garrett’s ear, his unshaven cheek rasping roughly against Garrett’s softer blond stubble. His tongue probed, tested, tasted, played until Garrett’s cock ached and wept. Johns never kissed, never teased, never played, and he was starved for what Lochlann was so determined to give him.

“You’re ready, aren’t you?” Lochlann’s whisper went straight into the depths of his ear. “I can tell. My senses are keener than yours.” The Fae inhaled through his nose, long and slow, and let the breath out again on a shuddering sigh. “Damn. You smell incredible. I suppose I’ll have to settle for filling myself with you that way first. Just your scent.” His tongue teased Garrett’s earlobe into his mouth; his teeth toyed briefly with the stud there before he suckled.

“First?”

Lochlann pulled back, at this, just enough to look Garrett in the eyes. And his smile, Garrett had never seen a curve of lips so full of wicked promises in his life. “I can think of so many ways I want to be full of you, grafain. After the first time.”

CHARACTER INTERVIEW:
Lochlann Doran – Fae lead in Deep Plunge
• Describe yourself to me.
I’m about six feet four inches tall, with longish black hair that I don’t think has done what I want it to do once in over two thousand years. My eyes are aquamarine – literally, kind of. The iris of a Fae’s eye is faceted, like a gem. You have to look closely to see it, though, or know it’s there. I don’t smile all that often, but when I do, humans say it transforms my whole face, lights it up. I guess you’d say I’m well-built, though not ripped. Been there, tried that, bought the t-shirt, got bored with it. Haven’t heard any complaints, though.

• Is one sense more highly developed than another? (Are you more visual, or audial, etc, or do you rely on the famous sixth sense?)
All Fae senses are enhanced, at least compared to human senses. And I’m a Water Fae, a healer, so I also have an aural sense. Only mine doesn’t work the way it’s supposed to, it comes and goes when it feels like it.

• What really moves you, or touches you to the soul?

Until recently, I would have said ‘nothing’. Coming to your world left me with only half a soul, and I’ve been looking for the other half for so long I’ve lost almost everything that made me a Fae, especially my magick. And my sense of wonder wore out a long time ago. Centuries. But lately, there’s a human male…. a dancer, with eyes like amber and a smile that makes me forget I’ve forgotten magick.

• What do you consider are your strengths?
Persistence.

• What do you consider are your weaknesses?
Stubbornness. What do you mean, there’s no difference?

• What one physical attribute would you change?
It’s silly. But I’d be blond if I could. Most dark-haired people are made fun of, among the Fae. Dark hair and eyes are considered ‘animal’ traits.

• What do you consider your special talent?
Healing. If I ever get it back. Water Fae are the only Fae who can heal without causing pain, but I lost the ability when my magick ran dry.

• What are you most afraid of?
Fae have an innate terror of closed-in spaces that move. In the Realm, we Fade to get from one place to another, or ride horses. My idea of Hell is a VW Beetle. And don’t even talk to me about airplanes.

• How would you like to die?
Now there’s an interesting question. I’ve seen just about every way to die that can possibly be imagined. And I’d have to say… I don’t really care, as long as I don’t see it coming.

• What do you want from life?
I have what I want… Family.

• In your relationship with others, how are you different with family than you are with friends? Why?
I’m not different. If I consider you a friend, then you are family to me.

• How do you fall in love? At first sight? Over a long period?
Both. Love has many levels. With time it either grows or fizzles away to nothing. The 2 times I’ve fallen in love, they were at first sight. I can still remember how they made me feel and what they were wearing the first time I saw them. My first love, we were both teenagers. I believed in my heart that we were destined to be together. My immaturity ruined our relationship. First loves are hard. The ones lost are never truly forgotten. Deep in my heart I will always remember and love him. My second love, when I first saw him I told my friend that I was going to marry him. Four years later, we got married. Over the years my love for him has grown deeper. Although I know nothing lasts forever, the thought of not seeing or talking to him every day tears me up inside.

• When you walk into a room, what do you notice first? Second? That depends what room it is or what’s in the room. If it’s a bar, an empty stool. If it’s a room in someone’s house I notice the décor. Now if it’s a conference room, the empty seat furthest from upper management. *Laughing*

• When you walk into a room, what do you expect people to notice about you?
This also depends on the room I’m entering. Honestly, I prefer not to be noticed or to be the center of attention. Now, if my husband was in the room that I entered, then I’d expect him to notice everything about me. As I would do the same as he entered any room. I’d strip him of his clothing with my eyes.

• What really moves you, or touches you to the soul?
A child’s smile or their laughter touches my soul. Every child is truly a blessing.

• What do you consider are your weaknesses?
I over analyze almost everything.

• What are you most proud of about your life?
Being an aunt to my many nieces and nephews, and fulfilling my childhood dream of becoming an author.

• What's the most important thing in your life? What do you value most?
My parents, husband, sister, brother… my family is the most important thing in my life.

• Which living person do you most despise?
Anyone who bullies, intimidates or abusing anyone mentally or physically. 

• What is your greatest regret?
The only regret I have is not spending enough quality time with my sister before she passed away at the young age of 44. I never got to tell her that is was because of her that I started writing.

• Which words or phrases do you most overuse? “You’re an ass!” I call everyone dear to me an ass. I mean it in the nicest loving way. Hahaha

• If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
Self-discipline. I have none when it comes to exercising.

• What are your favorite names?
Bradley, Natalia, Wyatt, Harley, Hunter, Anabel and Leo.

• How would you like to die?
I’d rather not die but since I have no choice on the subject, in my sleep. This is a very morbid question.

About the Book:Give me the blurb for the book in 140 characters or less: 

A Fae healer meets the human who holds the missing half of his soul and challenges him to hope and to love. But a lurking evil wants to make sure hope is vain and love is lost.

Do you have a favorite character? Why is he your favorite? 

So far, I’d have to say Garrett Templar, from Deep Plunge. He’s my favorite because I put more of myself into him than any of the others. Kevin Almstead (Hard as Stone) got my lawyer side, Josh LaFontaine (Gale Force) got my tendency to try to do everything myself (the poor guy!) and Cuinn an Dearmad (all the books so far) got my snark. But Garrett got my childhood, and my attitude toward life. And I had a dream once where I looked in a mirror, and his face looked back at me.

What do you hope readers will get from your book? 

All the SoulShare books have a theme running through them, the discovery of the joy to be found in an intimate relationship. And Deep Plunge in particular says something I really needed to say about the persistence of hope.


About the Author:What/Who inspires you? 

Right now? Same-sex couples who have been together ten years, twenty, thirty, who are thrilled and excited and moved to tears when they’re finally able to take the one they love as a husband or wife.

Hardest aspect of writing? Best/Easiest? 

The hardest part is making any time to read. I’m borderline ADD, so my job, which requires a lot of sustained concentration, completely wipes me out. Then I sit down at the computer, but my son still has to tell me all about his day and the project he’s working on and his latest passion. Then I usually write until one in the morning or so, and then I’m up at 6. Not much time in there to read! The best part, I think, is that moment when I’m starting a new project, and I reach inside myself, and thanks be to God there’s another story in there waiting to be told.

Who is your writing hero? 

Dan Simmons, I think. He can write any genre he likes, he can make up genres if he wants to. Horror, science fiction, gothic, and my favorite, the epic science fiction fantasy literary fiction tetralogy. And he does it all better than pretty much anyone out there. If you ever get a chance to read his short story, Two Minutes Forty-Five Seconds, grab it. And then find a nice quiet place to cry.

About the Future:What’s next for you? 

More Fae, more tree spirits. And I have a lovely painting hanging on my wall, of two people with gorgeous blue and teal and green and black wings, and they’re telling me there’s a book about them in my head somewhere.

One outrageous goal for the future? 

Being able to take the day job and see how high, long, and hard I can kick it!

Do you have any advice you'd like to share with other aspiring writers?

As a woman writing m/m erotic romance, I can hardly say “write what you know”… but I can say, and I do say, write what you love. And don’t always make your writing take the back seat in your life. If you let other people treat your writing time as unimportant, or if you treat it as unimportant, it takes away from the love of it.

Randomness:Sweet or salty? 

Yes please. Sea salt caramels, mmmmmmm!

Beach, plains or mountains? 

Mountains. I’m water phobic, and there’s only so much flat I can take in one sitting.

Online, letters or in person? 

All three. There’s a freedom in conversing through an avatar that I really love. And I’m just old-fashioned enough that I still like writing real letters. And, of course, there’s nothing like hanging with my besties!

Ebook or print? 

Both at different times. Writing in my genre, there are certain resource materials and reading matter I’d rather not have lying around my house! But I’m a printer’s daughter, I have in in my veins, and I love very little as much as I love a print book.

About the Book:
Do you have a favorite character? 

It’s hard for me to pick a favorite character but the two I am fond of most are Bradley and Colleen.Why are they your favorite?

Bradley has all the qualities I admire most in a man: humble, loyal, devoted, intelligence and a true Knight in shining armor.

Colleen because she’s always slapping the shit out of her mate Jesse. What do you hope readers will get from your book? 

Even if only for a brief moment, a chance to escape from reality.


About the Author:

What/Who inspires you? My sister inspires me every day. The last few years of her life she battled breast cancer. During that time she endured the horrible side effects of chemo, suffered with pain, raised three children, worked full time and she fulfilled her lifelong dream of getting a college degree. Through it all she never once said, “Why me?” She lived the remaining years of her life as if any one of those days could be her last. She was an amazing woman.

Hardest aspect of writing? The hardest part is the editing. I have a tendency to use all ‘tenses’ in one paragraph. Sentence structure can, at times, be difficult for me as well. When I write I just type without thinking. The character is telling the story and is usually talking much faster than my fingers can type.
Best/Easiest? 

The best part about writing is the romance. I’m a hopeless romantic, believe in soul mates and love at first sight. All, make it easy for me to write romance.


Who is your writing hero? 
I’ve never really thought about it. There are so many talented authors out there that have inspired me throughout the years. My list is endless.

About the Future:

What’s next for you? The Magic of Black Forest: The Guardian Dragon Princess. It’s the fifth book of the series and will be told by Anabel, a dragon shifter. 

One outrageous goal for the future?

I’m presently fulfilling my outrageous goal of becoming a good author. My future goal is to continue writing without it becoming a ‘job.’ If writing starts to feel like a job, it won’t be fun anymore. It will crush my dream.

Do you have any advice you'd like to share with other aspiring writers?

Write your thoughts down or you could forget them. Read. Finish every book you read, even if you don’t like it. You can learn a lot from books you don’t like. Keep an open mind, let your imagination run wide and trust in your editor. Most important, never give up on your dream of becoming an author. Anything is possible so reach for the stars!

Randomness:

Sweet or salty? 

It depends what we’re actually talking about. *Wink wink* I like my man to be sweet on the outside but salty on the inside.

Beach, plains or mountains? 

The mountains. Black forest is locating in the rural mountains of mid-upper Pennsylvania. It soothes my soul and awakens my creativity.

Online, letters or in person? 

It depends on who I’m talking to. I prefer in person but that’s not always an option available when friends and family live in different parts of the country. Online is easiest but I still enjoy sitting down and writing a good ole fashion letter.

Ebook or print? 

Print. There’s something about holding a book in your hand. Technology has failed me once or twice, so I always carry a printed book or two when traveling. Typically I purchase most books via eBooks. The ones I enjoy the most, I’ll purchase in print as well so that I can read them over and over.

Born and raised in southeastern Pennsylvania. The youngest of three, Macy started telling stories at an early age. As a young adult she began writing poems and short stories.

Today, Macy, a romantic with a creative imagination spends most of her free time writing. If she’s not writing or reading, she enjoys riding ATV’s with her husband on the trails of upper Pennsylvania’s State Forests.
